DJing in Paris

I was invited to play back-to-back with Alberto at the graduation party for ESCP Europe in Paris this weekend. A bit of odd time to travel to Paris with the protests and riots, but the actual gig ended being beyond anything I could have imaged.

We played at a club called Yoyo by Palais de Tokyo to more than 800 people and it definitely goes up there as one of the best DJ nights I’ve had (alongside that time I played in Russia). We had so much fun and even though we had to play a lot more commercial music than what I am used to, it worked out well – I even managed to mix which is a rare occasion for anybody that has ever heard me play.

Despite the unrest during the rest of the days we managed to have a lovely time and it never fails to blow me away how many lovely people Alberto knows.

It was the 5th year in a row he played this night and with a tiny bit of luck, I hope I get invited back to play again next year.

One year and counting!

This was my face exactly a year ago when I got the news that my amazing and incredible goddaughter Ylva had finally arrived into this crazy world.

Fast forward a year and here we are walking to her first birthday. Just like the avengers, the full squad (almost) was assembled to celebrate this little wolf’s first year on planet earth.

It’s crazy to think that when I started this blog in 2005, I had known the majority of these people for 3-4 years, and now we are travelling to Sweden from all over the world to celebrate the birthday of the first generation of…us!

It fills my heart with so much love and joy. I can’t wait for all the other birthdays of our mini-me’s in the future :)

Needless to say that it was a lovely affair and I truly wish we’d have more time than just a mere 24 hours to spend in Malmö with my favourite people.

Big happy first birthday Ylva! I love you to the moon and back for infinity. Nobody gives cuddles and kisses like you, just like nobody makes my heart grow quite like you <3

90 years and counting!

After some minor delays, we finally managed to get to Turin to celebrate Alberto’s nonno Riccardo that turned 90 years old – and what a celebration it was! The whole family was gathered and we went out to a lovely little village on the countryside to eat lunch at a trattoria that only serves Piedmontese specialities.

Having been a Torino FC fan for over 85 (!!) years, they all got him a full Torino kit and football shirt with his name and age on the back :)

They somehow also managed to get hold of the captain and main striker of Torino FC, Andrea Belotti, who recorded a lovely birthday video message and invited him to join the team at one of their training sessions.

All in all a fantastic long weekend, I am so lucky to have the best extended family ever <3
