Saying goodbye to Jazzman Records with a heavy heart

It is with a very heavy heart that Im having to share that this time next week will be my last day at Jazzman Records

I found about the news more or less the same day I got back from Thailand, but I haven’t really been in a position to share it on the blog, at least not mentally, until now because I wasn’t sure how to approach it and what to say.

And if I’m honest, I still don’t really know what to say because it’s very difficult to cover 4½ years of feelings and thoughts in one blog post.

But I can tell you this much:

It has been an absolute pleasure working for and with Jazzman Gerald. He is one of the most knowledgeable and honest people I know and have worked for in the music industry, and I have a huge amount of respect for the way he carries out his business.

I do not regret a single second that I have spent working for Jazzman Records – I gave my job 110% of everything I had to give and in return I learnt so much about this industry as well as myself.

Not many people in this world get the chance to work with something that they really love and feel so passionate about – so I am eternally grateful for  the fact that I have been able to wake up every morning for almost 5 years and go to a job that I have loved with all my heart.

I’m not going to lie, we’re all pretty gutted that I can’t keep my role at the company, but I suppose even the best of things come to an end sometimes…

But despite these sad news I do have a very positive outlook on the future and I am convinced that this is life’s way of forcing me to go and experience and learn new things, set myself new challenges, and generally just making sure that I continue to grow as a person.

So don’t worry, this definitely isn’t goodbye forever as I will continue to do some Jazzman related things on the side including the bi-monthly events and hopefully the radio show on NTS as well, I just won’t be there on a full-time permanent basis.
