Exactly 10 years ago I got these four CDs for my 18th birthday from my mum.
Even though I didn’t realise it at the time, they had such a profound impact on me that without them I probably wouldn’t be where I am today.
I know that that is a very bold statement to make – but I am convinced that without the influence of those four people in my teens and what they represented (at least to me) coupled with the music they selected on those four comps I would not be working at Jazzman Records today.
Anyway, due to a lot of requests I made a playlist with the songs from all the comps that were available on Spotify – sadly a lot of Soul tracks were left out but overall I reckon it’s still a pretty solid selection!
