Jazzman Records radio show with Francis Gooding

We ended up having two radio shows in August and since Gerald was on holiday for the second, I had the pleasure of being joined by our friend and collaborator Francis Gooding.

Francis writes most of the liner notes that you find as part of our holy grail and spiritual jazz series.

In this show I talk to him about his work for Jazzman and other labels such as Strut, as well as his passion for music – especially South African music.

He also shares with us a great selection of rare and obscure South African records, plus an exclusive listen to one of his upcoming projects on Jazzman.

Have a listen below!

For the first time ever I am prepared for autumn/winter!

Happy 1st of September!

Not sure if it’s due to all those years in school, but the first day of September always feels like a fresh start to the year. A bit like New Years day but without the nasty hangover haha ;)

And for the first time ever, I am more or less prepared for the changing seasons ahead, at least from a wardrobe point of view.

For over a year now I’ve been trying to get rid of a lot of my old clothes – not only because I’ve had them for such a long time and not really worn them, but also because I’ve been moving a lot and quite frankly, I just don’t have enough space to be hoarding clothes I don’t wear.

During this small overhaul of my wardrobe, one key change I’ve tried to implement has been to opt for a smaller but “better” variety of clothes.

Since my budget has been quite small, I have been trying to buy good basic items that I can (hopefully) wear for at least 2-3 seasons and match with a variety of older clothes I already have.

Not that I am some sort of fashionista or style icon, but I’m excited and happy that I’m finally starting to get a feel for what my own style is – even if it’s taken me forever to figure out what I like AND look good in.

Anyway, I absolutely adore the outfit above that I got from my grandma for my birthday and I’m totally in love with some of the new clothes and accessories that I managed to snap up as either birthday or graduation presents.

You can have a look at them on the board below – although some of the items I just like and have pinned for inspiration purposes only, Im not made of money ;)

Now all I need is a bit chillier weather and I’ll be able to bust out my new coat and boots, paired with my new fake leather skirt (with pockets!) and grey cropped sweatshirt – can’t wait!
