DON’T MISS THE LDBK x MIXCLOUD PARTY THIS FRIDAY IN BRUSSELS!
To balance out my guilty pleasure in the previous post, here is another tune I can’t get out of my head!
Nicolas Jaar – What My Last Girl Put Me Through Bluewave EDIT by Clown and Sunset
As a uhm… “tastemaker” I should probably not post this kind of music, buuuuuut…
1. I don’t care ;)
2. I’ve been singing it in my head since I left the house this morning
Considering dropping it in my set on Friday in Brussels but not sure if it would go down very well… hehe… we shall see :)
Morning my friends,
Early start for me today, so so tired, trying to wake my brain up with some strong coffee. My entire body hurts… spent most of the weekend cleaning my old house. Don’t think I have scrubbed so much in my entire life and I think sniffing bleach for 7 hours straight has had some bad side-effects. And if that wasn’t enough, I had to carry a MASSIVE bag all the way down south which resulted in knackered wrists (combined with all the scrubbing) plus a destroyed right arm (I got bruises and some small veins have popped on my arm and gone red/purple).
But it’s all done now and I think me, Dave and Nat did a great job. Gonna miss our little house… Like Nat said: “it’s the end of an era”.
The rest of my time (awake & asleep!) I have been consumed with thoughts about copyright. As part of my MA course, I had to write a 500 word piece reflecting on readings I did last week with regards to copyright and the ongoing debate about it. To put it simply: Copyright is like putting your brain through a blender. I can’t get it off my mind and the more I think about it, the more confused I get haha.
I need to put up my blog post later today on the MA Music Industries blog (didn’t have time yesterday) so if you are curious on what we are discussing or want to know what it feels like putting your brain through a blender, feel free to check it out.
Now I need to go to work! Have a great Monday!
Come and join us @ Howl At The Moon (178 Hoxton St, London, N1 5LH) TOMORROW! It starts at 8pm and it’s free!
A quick reminder that I will be dj-ing at Off The Record at Wax Jambu tonight!
If you can’t make it down, you can stream the event live on the Off The Record Ustream channel or watch it on the embedded video below.
I am on at 8pm GMT (that’s 21:00 your time mum) and after me you will have Alex Chase from One Handed Music!
Morning my friends!
Had a lovely surprise dropped in my inbox this morning that I just had to share with you!
One of my all-time favourite contemporary female artists/dj’s Ahu dropped a new exclusive mix for Laid Back, and it is a pure delight to listen to! Make sure you check it out – it contains perfect sounds to get over the Wednesday hump!
Good evening friends!
Sorry if you feel neglected! I have been so incredibly busy the past week that there simply hasn’t been enough time to blog. Started uni last week which was very exciting and if you are interested in the things we do and say, you can check out the MA Music Industries blog.
I had a great time doing a live show at the Mixcloud party, as soon as the show is up on their site I’ll let you know.
Went to the land of no mobile and internet reception this past weekend. Heads up if you’re ever heading to Aldeburgh, you’re in for a nasty surprise if you’re not prepared. Besides from those technical issues I had a fantastic time by the coast in the sunshine.
This week it’s back to mental, so if you’re about tomorrow night, come and say hello at Wax Jambu as I will be djing there alongside Alex Chase from about 8pm. If you can’t make that then you can catch me at Howl At The Moon in Hoxton on Friday. You can find all events under the Gigs tab!
Right, time for bed I think! But before I go… make sure you check out this LUSH mix by Eric Lau for PMOI:
