If you’re in London tomorrow night and you don’t go to this, you are a goddamn fool my friend! DJ Mitsu the beats only UK date at Plastic People. I have a feeling it will be mind blowing. And if you’re still not convinced, check out the video below that features my country man Promoe from the Swedish hiphop group Looptroop.
Greymatter is a person I have been following for a while on twitter and his great taste in music never stops to amaze me. He was interviewed for the latest “under the influence with…” series over at cubikmusik (a dope series & website that I highly recommend you to check out!) and it included a great mix called “2Steppin Into Tomorrow“. This heavy mixtape totally made my Monday morning and it includes tunes from Greymatter, Kode9, Floating Points & Martyn (to name a few). So stop wasting time, just go and read “under the influence with…greymatter” and find the complete tracklisting for the mix plus additional tunes to download! Enjoy! x
Happy Monday my friends!
I hope you have had a nice weekend. My weekends just seem to be getting better and better, this weekend not being an exception.
Went down to the Westbury on saturday night (despite the heavy rain I’d like to add). Was planning on a quiet night with no drinking just enjoying some quality tunes. Safe to say, it didn’t go as I planned… Due to my vodka loving Polish company, the vodka intake was a bit higher than anticipated. Nevertheless, MJ Cole played an incredible set, serving us tune after tune, proper setting the roof on fire. Everybody was dancing, even people I know never dance. One of the best “Download This” nights I have been to for a long time! (shout to Alex Phountzi from Bugz In The Attic / GreenMoney for putting on such a great night!)
Then Sunday arrived and I went down to Cargo to attend the Spin Doctors birthday bash/bbq. Oh man, what a perfect way to spend a sunday afternoon/evening!
The mood was on top, the vibes were amazing, and the DJ’s were incredible. I can’t remember the last time I went to an event where they played so many classic quality hiphop tunes! I especially like Kidkanevils set, EVERYBODY were getting down and singing along and feeling it. It put the biggest/silliest smile on my face ever haha. I love how good music can lift your spirits and make life seem 100 times better!
Now it is Monday and I feel a bit tired. But as they say, no rest for the wicked! There’s some pretty heavy stuff coming up this week! God I love summer in London!…
Good afternoon my friends!
How are we feeling today? All good I hope! Just wanted to give you heads up about this great documentary on 1Xtra called Bedroom Beats. It features some of the UK’s finest “bedroom producers” like Paul White, Bullion, Floating Points, Eric Lau, DJ IQ, Toddla T and many more. If you’re into making beats and producing stuff at home/from your bedroom, I definitely think you will enjoy this! Plus it’s not very long, only 26 minutes. So yes, check it out!
I got an email through the other day, and this game really made me giggle. Finale is an emcee from Detroit, and you might have caught him last week at Deviation. His latest LP, A Pipe Dream And A Promise, includes productions from J Dilla as well as Flying Lotus, Oddisee, and Black Milk (to name a few). The game above is called Super Finale, and it gives you a chance to win the track “One Man Show” off his album. Even if you’re not into hiphop, it is a funny little way to start your morning with.
As for me, I should get ready for work. By the looks of it, no sunshine today either. But I guess that’s the way the cookie crumbles. Oh and if you’re out and about in London tonight, make sure you check this out tonight in Shoreditch

You’re chance to experience some fresh sounds from Alexander Nut, Floating Points & vocals from (queen!) Fatima and Cooly G plus others @ The Macbeth, 70 Hoxton Street, LDN! You don’t wanna miss out. And I’m gonna be late, so Im off. Have a nice day peeps! x
A quick update as I am meant to go into a meeting shortly. I came across this tune this morning thanks to Mr Beatnick & Alex Chase, and it was a great song to start the day to, so I wanted to share it with you guys. You should definitely go and check out both Tranqill and Oddisee if you haven’t already, two very talented artists indeed! If i have understood it correctly, they are cooking an album up as we speak, so keep your eyes and ears open for when that bad boy drops!
Right, have to dash! But I shall be back later. Hope you’re having a nice day! x

I have been working on this special edition of my OrsiiCast for a while now, and it is a bit longer than my usual ones. As some of you know, I have always considered music to be my one true love. I relate so many, if not all, of my happiest moments in life to a song, an album or a certain artist. Music makes me feel complete and it has played a major role in shaping me into the person I am today, for good and for worse.
This Musical Love Letter (Vol.1) includes a lot artists that have had a big influence on me, artists that have touched my heart and soul, artists that I now consider a part of me, beats and melodies that form my Orsi universe .
I’ll never forget discovering the likes of Nina Simone, Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Al Green (to name a very few) in my fathers record collection and being blown away by their music. They lead me on a path where I discovered artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, J Dilla, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Jill Scott. Of course, as time goes by, I keep discovering more and more amazing music, and some of these discoveries also form part of this special edition podcast.
So without any further ado, I will let you get on with the listening. Enjoy! Much love x

I have had an amazing weekend in Bristol with my boys, Neil & David. Went to St Paul’s carnival yesterday and met up with my mate John. Walked around for hours, had a lot of beer and cider, ate some jerk chicken, listened and danced A LOT to some amazing music, and in general had an absolute fab time. The only downside of this weekend was when a man climbed up a huge fence that he was too heavy for, and I managed to get both him and the fence over me, resulting in a very big scar on my left leg. But at least I look badass in my scar (haha). Heading back to London in one hour, but thought I would upload the pictures as they were taken with Dave’s camera.
I hope you’ve had a nice weekend! x
I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!
Makes me miss Malmö.

Good morning my darlings! I am pleased to say that I am almost done with my musical “Love Letter”. Will try to record it tonight so you have some nice tunes to listen to this weekend. A quick reminder for all of you music lovers, the Japanese awesomeness that is Soil & “PIMP” Sessions will be playing at Koko next Thursday, 9th July. They are one of the most amazing bands I have ever seen live, so you should definitely head down and check them out! And if that wasn’t enough, one of my favourite Japanese DJ’s Toshio Matsuura will be spinning some tunes, alongside the one and only Gilles Peterson, and the mighty bPm. Do I really need to say anything more to convince you of the fact that this will be an amazing night?! It is being arranged by the lovely Brownswood crew and the cool cats at KSPACE. I can also reveal that Toshio Matsuura will be joining us downstairs next week at Life (on the 8th July), so if you can’t wait until the 9th, make sure you come downstairs for the pre-party!
And if one week is still too much to wait, I suggest you head down to Herbal tomorrow evening for the Doctor’s Orders 4th Birthday bash. The line up is amazing, including personal favourites such as Paul White, Guilty Simpson, DJ Vadim and Phat Kat. If there is one party you should check out this weekend, I would say this is the one and only. And if you can’t make it tomorrow, remember that the Spin Doctors are having a special (FREE) Birthday BBQ at Cargo on Sunday the 12th, from 1pm ’til midnight.
Right, that is enough event pimpin from my side! I will be back a bit later with some other news, but now I should perhaps do some work. x
