Another weekend is almost upon us, so I figured I would share this little gem to get you in the right weekend mood.
Basically, to mark the 25th Anniversary of the wonderful Gilles Peterson broadcasts for the BBC, the Mucho Soul crew have uploaded very first show Gilles did for the BBC back in the mid 80s! It was recorded a month (exactly) after I was born, namely on September 2nd 1986, the show was called Mad On Jazz and aired weekly on Radio London 94.9 FM every Tuesday.
Been listening to it all morning and all I can say is *swoon*. It still feels & sounds fresh 25 years later, and I have to admit, it has made me love Mr P just a tiny bit more.
Play some more of this stuff on your current show Gilles, not just in the basement! ;)

Tom and Zac from Keep Up! are covering for Dom Servini (head of WahWah45s) on his Colourful Radio show tonight and they asked me to contribute with a 30 min mix.
They will be playing music from the past, present and future and have a secret special guest live in the studio for a chat. To give you a clue: he’s not an artist, nor label manager but he has a huge role on London’s music scene.

I hope you’ve had a nice weekend and that life is slowly going back to normal after the previous week’s unrest here in the UK.
In the midst of all the chaos last week, I took shelter at work to record a very special edition for my “Little Miss Sunshiine” show. I had the great honour of being joined by Gerald Short, also known as Jazzman Gerald, the founder and director of the label Jazzman Records.
As some of you might know, Gerald is my boss, so I have the pleasure of working with him on a day-to-day basis. But it is not every day I have the chance to sit down and have a “real” conversation with him about what inspired him to start up Jazzman, what his drive is and what thoughts he has on what other people think about him & his business and so on.
Apart from the interview you can also expect a bunch of fantastic, rare and obscure records being played on the show, covering a variety of styles.

Im so tired my contact lenses just fell out! But as they say – there’s no rest for the wicked and sadly that seems to be more and more true. Anyway, enough complaining! I just realised that I achieved something quite amazing this evening, well, amazing according to myself anyway… and it hit me that I hadn’t even shared it with you to begin with (shame on me!!)
16 days ago, just as I got back from my holiday, my new/latest Little Miss Sunshiine show went on up Laid Back, and guess what! Tonight it reached over 10,000 plays.
Let me say that again – My show ( My, Orsi’s show, the girl who isn’t famous, who doesn’t make music, who isn’t anything special really) reached over 10,000 plays on Mixcloud in 16 days. That’s roughly 625 listens per day! It’s just CRAZY! CRAZY I TELL YOU!
So all I can say is Thank You to all you wonderful people who have tuned in and supported me and shown me & my shows & my mixes so much love. I am over the moon and words cannot express how much I appreciate it.
