Morning my lovelies!
It’s so cold this morning that I can see my own breath, brrrr! I hope you’ve had a nice weekend, mine was rather nice. Perfect mix of work & relaxing if I am honest.
I felt like stomping my feet and make a little fuss about a great website called Groovement this Monday morning. Not only because it’s a dope music website in general, but it has interesting interviews, great mixes and a sweet radio show that I can definitely recommend you to check out! Personal favourites are the ones from Kid Kanevil, Northern Comfort, and a stupidly good live set from Paul White that makes me smile no matter what mood im in.
Plus, the fact that Agent J sometimes drop a little unexpected note about me on the blog from time to time does make my heart grow fonder.
But yeah, if you wanna start your week with a big smile, check the Groovement website! So enjoy, and I shall be back a bit later. Much love! x

Hello my dear friends!
I hope you are all good and that you had a nice weekend! I have been a busy little bee lately so I haven’t posted an OrsiiCast here for over a month. However, my friend Alex from On-Point turned 25 yesterday, something I felt like I had to celebrate in one form or another. I have never met him in my life, and he is kind enough to let me stay with him this weekend when I am going over to Brussels. So, I figured I would dedicate this very groovy little OrsiiCast to him. Be prepared to be blown away by some funkalicious tunes my friends! If you manage to sit still to this one, I will be very surprised!
Happy Birthday Alex! I hope you had an amazing day yesterday. I wish you all the love, well being and happiness in the world. Thank you for the continues support and for all the positive energy and inspiration you spread. This one is for you… Much Love – Orsi x

Love is one of the most beautiful things on this earth. It makes you feel like you can do anything and overcome any obstacle in your way. I am a firm believer of the fact that you can’t choose the people you love, it just happens, for good and for worse. Unfortunately, when it happens for the worse, it feels like somebody suddenly took away your ability to breath. You can’t eat, you can’t sleep, you’re desperately struggling to keep a straight face in public whilst you’re feeling your eyes watering up, and all you want is to run away and hide. No matter how much the sun shines, all days seem a little bit darker, just a little bit gloomier. You can’t help but feeling like a fool, like you’ve just won the gold medal in being the biggest joke in town. And no matter how much you try not to think about it, no matter how much you try to pretend that everything is fine, these feelings slowly start creeping up on you. With every day that passes it feels like you’re losing a little bit of yourself, bit by bit a small part of your soul dies, and a part of your heart gets shattered. So what can you do when you feel like this? When you feel like you have cried all the tears you physically have inside of you to cry? In my case, all I can do is to express myself through music…

Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of finally meeting Colin, the mastermind behind the amazing website CubikMusik. We met through Twitter a couple of months ago and whilst talking about different things we realized that our birthdays were three days apart. Being two music lovers (and coincidentally loving the same types of music), we set up a “challenge” to make each other birthday mixes. He had to make a mix for me covering the years from 1974 to 2009 (the year he was born to his current birthday) and I had to create a mix for him with 35 songs (which is the age he turned). And below is the result… I don’t really have much else to say, apart from that I hope Colin (and you guys) enjoy this little treat. It was made with a lot of love, so if nothing else, I hope at least that shines through.

Many people often ask me why I decided to stay in London after I finished university. Everything is much more expensive over here, it can get pretty lonely from time to time, it rains quite a bit, and I don’t actually work with music any more. I would say this podcast is the answer to that question. In my personal opinion, OrsiiCast 7 is one of the best ones (musically) I have ever made. This 59 minute mix lifts my spirits so high that I can’t stop smiling and yes, my heart does beat a bit faster when I play it. It includes incredible tunes from the likes of Paul White (have you bought his album yet!?), Dam-Funk, Souleance, Joker, a stupidly addictive remix from Mumdance and one of this summer’s favourites, Shimmy Shimmy Ya by Prince Fatty. So go get listening, it’s a good one! Much love! x

I have been working on this special edition of my OrsiiCast for a while now, and it is a bit longer than my usual ones. As some of you know, I have always considered music to be my one true love. I relate so many, if not all, of my happiest moments in life to a song, an album or a certain artist. Music makes me feel complete and it has played a major role in shaping me into the person I am today, for good and for worse.
This Musical Love Letter (Vol.1) includes a lot artists that have had a big influence on me, artists that have touched my heart and soul, artists that I now consider a part of me, beats and melodies that form my Orsi universe .
I’ll never forget discovering the likes of Nina Simone, Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Al Green (to name a very few) in my fathers record collection and being blown away by their music. They lead me on a path where I discovered artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, J Dilla, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Jill Scott. Of course, as time goes by, I keep discovering more and more amazing music, and some of these discoveries also form part of this special edition podcast.
So without any further ado, I will let you get on with the listening. Enjoy! Much love x

Here we are again with yet another OrsiiCast. I might not have been aware of it when I first selected the tunes for this new podcast, but it very much represents how I have been feeling lately. Some ups & some downs, fussing & fighting, smiling & loving, a bit like this mix. It includes some new tunes from Sa Ra Creative Partners, Quantic And His Combo Bárbaro and Lee Fields & The Expressions to name a few, and some old goodies like Dusty Springfield’s “Spooky” and one of my favourite tracks, “Why Can’t There Be Love”, with Dee Edwards. The photo used for this mid-summer edition was taken by my new work colleague and friend Chris, who has a very cool website and takes pretty goddamn amazing pictures. Have a look at his stuff here and follow his tweets here! And with that I will round off, but if you have any requests or recommendations for the coming podcast, or if you feel like sharing your opinion, leave me a comment! Enjoy.
