Hello my friends!

This week I was taken on one of the best culinary experiences of my entire life.
But before I share the amazing food that we literally devoured, I just want to give you a bit of background on how it all came about.

Me and my best friend Cata are looking to buy a flat this year. You see, at the end of August this year will mark our 7th anniversary of moving to London and both of us feel very strongly about finally owning something of our own instead of constantly having to pay off some random and often rude persons mortgage.

Having been North London girls for most of our time in the UK, one of the ways of trying to convince Cata that we should be looking south of the river was to take her to Brockley Market.

And to cut a rather long long story short – that is how we got to meet Mike from Mike+Ollie and ultimately got invited to this amazing supper club experience in his house.

It cost £35 per person for the food and £15 per bottle for the wine (chosen by his friend) – extremely cheap when you think of not just the fantastic quality and taste of both the food and wine, but also the incredible taste and the fact that we had around 6 courses in total!

He sent over all the ingredients he was going to use for the dinner before hand, but to keep a sense of mystery, we didn’t know how he was going to use them all and what he would end up making.

It was held in his house at the top floor that had been turned into a dining room with custom made chairs and tables. He had 2 people serving us and helping out with the preparations and a chap in the corner playing the acoustic guitar.

The atmosphere was great, we were a group of four people and were joined by another 10-12 people that we didn’t know, and it just felt like a very special night all around.

You can find a photo-bomb of the fantastic evening below, although I don’t think my pictures give it enough justice! I kid you not – this young man is incredibly talented and the food was beyond amazing.

Make sure you visit the Mike+Ollie website and if you’re ever in South East London on a Saturday, make sure you check out their stall at the Brockley market too!

This was the last supper club for about 4 months (Mike will be in Greenwich park cooking up amazing things for the Olympics and other festivities that will take place there) but I can’t recommend the food and the experience enough – try to go once he starts doing them again later in the year!
