Hello my darlings!

Today is kind of my last day here in Australia. I will head back to London tomorrow at 18:50 and I am already starting to get nervous about my flight! The journey will take me 23,5 hours, which is a VERY long time… I’ll be going Brisbane – Melbourne, Melbourne – Hong Kong, Hong Kong – London. They have discovered a lot of new cases of swineflu over here, and many of them are in Melbourne, so safe to say that I am a bit scared about that too. Plus the fact that Im going to Hong Kong, which will mean a lot of people, and yes, I am a bit concerned. But I will hopefully be alright.

We haven’t got much planned for today. I am rather tired after the long walk we had yesterday on the beach plus the amazing meal we had in the evening. Im just gonna chill out by the pool today and try to catch a bit more sun. Then we will probably head in to the city so I can have some more of the amazing Chinese food we had on Saturday, maybe meet up with Ben for some drinks, and that will be about it.

OH AND I FORGOT TO TELL YOU MY EXCITING NEWS!

I got a job the same day I flew out to Australia! It came as such a relief and I am so happy I managed to get it sorted before my holiday as it would have been a nightmare worrying about it whilst being here. I start on Tuesday, which will give me a bit more than a day to get over my jetlag. The office is based on Rivington Street next to Cargo, which is basically a small street just off Curtain Road (where I used to work), and if I stand on our roof terrace I can even see into my old office. I will tell you more about it all when I get back, but I just remembered that I hadn’t actually told you guys, so now I have.

I hope you all have a lovely Friday and a great weekend. Miss you lots and love you even more! x

Hello! I can’t be bothered to write anything, but here are some more pictures from the past days. They include partying it up in Brisbane on Saturday, visiting Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary on Tuesday and going over to North Stradbroke Island today.

Good morning peeps!
Gavin had a dentist appointment so I thought I would write a quick post while he is gone. I am sitting outside having my usual morning coffee. It is raining, again. Apparently it never really rains this time of the year, or at least not like this, so lucky me hahaha. It has been a weird mixture of heat and sun and rain since I got here. Weird to see people with coats, scarfs and hats on. Obviously it is winter here, but for me it feels like summer.

I haven’t really done a great deal since I got here, mainly relaxing. I was a zombie when I first arrived, but I managed to adapt to the time difference rather quickly (if you disregard the fact that I wake up 6am every morning and get tired around 9pm). On my first day we went into Brisbane city for a quick look, but I was still a bit jet-lagged so we didn’t do very much. On Tuesday all of us went down to the gold coast where we spent the night in a hotel. That was really nice, and even though they thought I was a bit crazy, I went and had a dip in the sea. For most people here, the sea was cold, but I thought it was really nice and warm, at least according to my “Swedish standards”. In the evening we went to this amazing malayisan restaurant, I got a bit drunk on wine, and we went back to the hotel to play some UNO and Jenga. The next day the cyclone came, and I dont think I have ever seen it rain like it did then. We made a stop at some huge shopping center, and safe to say that the shops/fashion here is a bit different from the ones I am used to in London. I cant believe that they don’t have H&M in this country, what the hell!?

Thursday me and Gavin went into Brisbane again and spent the whole day walking around in the sunshine. We visited some of his friends in record shops, walked down to the valley to see if I could find some pirate gear in some second hand shops, but yet again, you can’t compare the second hand shops they have here to the ones we have in London. Then we walked back, through the city, and ended up on the South Bank. Took a stroll in the park, had some coffee in the sun, and checked out the man made beach before we headed home again.

Yesterday we went to this small island called Coochie Mudlo Island. The weather was really nice, but I fear that my skin hasn’t adjusted to the sunshine yet, so I am not getting as much colour as I wish I would! We basically walked around the entire island, listening to music, building a sand car, and just generally chilling out. It feels a bit weird to think about the fact that I am on the other side of the earth. I mean, yes fair enough, everything looks different, from the houses to nature and the animals etc.

We watched a movie the other night by Emir Kusturica (no, not black cat white cat, another movie of his) and it made me realise how I could never live here. It is absolutely beautiful, but I would miss Europe so much. I mean, I have my hungarian roots, and I love that part of Europe and the culture and the people that go with it. And then I was brought up in Sweden, which you know, even if I complain a lot about how boring it is, I don’t think I could live too far away from there. Then we have London, which I can get so tired of, and feel so lonely and fed up with everything. But if it came down to it, I don’t think I could ever leave. At least not now… I dont know, I just had some kind of revelation whilst thinking about it all. I would love to travel and see the rest of the world. I would love to be able to discover and experience different places and people and cultures. But if it came down to it, I don’t think I would want to live anywhere else. Because no matter how miserable I feel from time to time in London, I think it has grown on me, and I miss it so much. I miss the people, I miss my shitty little house, I miss the busses that take forever.

Oh! The sun just popped out, and I think I should have a shower and start to get ready. We are going to a Pirate themed party at some club tonight, and before that we are meeting up with 2 of Gavins friend. But I hope you have a nice weekend, and I will try to give you another update before I leave in a weeks time. Much love! x

Hello everybody!

I hope all of you are well. I am very fine but tired after spending the whole day walking around on a little island called Coochie Mudlo (yes that have very weird names over here!). It was very nice and I think I even managed to get a bit of colour (which I’ll hopefully be able to work on a bit more before I head home).

Anyways, I have taken quite a few pictures since I have been here, so I thought I would give you a selection of the best ones so far (not too many though, but a couple to give you an idea of what I have been up to).

And there you have it people! I’m gonna go now, but I shall return with some more pictures when I get the chance to upload them. Take care and much love to you all! Miss you loads! x

Hello! Just wanted to write a quick post letting everybody know that I have arrived in one piece. The journey was very long, and I sat next to the weirdest couple on my flight between London – Sydney. We had a quick stop-over in Bangkok, and one of the security dudes seemed very entertained by the fact that I was reading Harry Potter. I managed to catch some movies on the flight, and to my great surprise, I watched Twilight (please don’t have me!) and actually liked it! (SORRY!) I think I need to buy the books now because I am desperate to find out what happens!

I almost missed my flight in Sydney due to the massive transfer ques, and I had to do that proper Hollywood run for my flight, where they were just about to close the gate, but I managed to slip in just in time. I took loads of pictures from the air, and I can’t actually believe that I am on the other side of the world. It feels very surreal!

Safe to say I was very jet lagged during the day, but I managed to stay awake until 7:30pm, which I think was a great effort considering I didnt get any sleep on the flight. I woke up around 6:30 this morning, fully rested (I think) and I am really excited about being here.

I should probably go downstairs and have some breakfast, since the reason why I woke up was that I was feeling very hungry. But I will drop by from time to time to keep you updated on what’s going on. I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend! Much love! x

Hello friends!
The time has come to leave to the airport. It has been an absolutely CRAZY week, and I have some very exciting news! However, it will have to wait until I return. I am officially off to my first holiday in ages, and you can’t even imagine how happy and excited I am. Miss me loads! Much love. x

Evening! Just got home from work and I am rather tired. Just put in some chicken kiev in the oven, so I thought I would write a little post while I wait for it to cook. It took me an hour (!!) to get home today, they are doing so much road work near my house, so a distance that usually takes 5 minutes by bus took us 25! I was carrying my computer in my bag, and when we passed Manor House tube station, it looked like there had been some sort of accident (due to the many police and ambulance cars outside the station), so I was rather pleased with my decision NOT to jump off the bus and walk the last few stop.

So, tomorrow is the big day, I am so excited! I have those butteflies in my stomach that I used to have before every show when we used to perform with the band. Slightly nervous and scared, but I will hopefully do well.

Right, I think my food is ready to be served, think of me tomorrow! Much love! x

Oh sweet lord how tired I am! I couldn’t fall asleep until about 4am, which means I had a good 3 hours sleep! What can you do ey? Just had a look at the weather report, looks like it’s going to be sunny today, to then move on to rainy times. Hopefully the rain won’t follow me to Australia, I am in need of some heavy doses of sun. Anyway, just thought I would drop by and say hi before I went to work…

OH! And before I forget! A special Monday morning shout out to a person called David from Fribourg in Switzerland! I don’t know you, but you recommended my blog, and now I have had people visitng from all across the globe thanks to you. What can I say apart from thank you and that I feel very flattered!

Have a nice day people! Much love! x

Before I forget! A perfect Monday morning feel good song. One of the best covers of that song too! Plus, I have been in a Stevie Wonder mood all week, so I thought I might as well share it will all you lovely people. Enjoy! x

So I deleted an old post by accident… bugger! Oh well, I was probably just moaning about life, which unfortunately seems to be the theme of many blog posts recently (even if they have been rather few…) Hopefully that will come to an end soon enough. I am really trying to look on the bright side of life, even if it is rather difficult.

This will be my last week at Airlock, and sad as I am about it, I guess this is lifes way of telling me that the time has come to move on and find greater challenges. Safe to say that I am scared shitless, but nevertheless, I never turn down an opportunity where I feel I will grow as a person and have a chance develope my skills (both personal and professional).

I have a job interview this Wednesday for a job that I want so badly I could sell my pinky toe (the left one, just in case you were wondering). Im probably going to jinx it by mentioning it, but I can’t help myself. That job was made for me! Not only would I be able to do it, but it would be set in an environment where I know I could learn a lot and become 100 times better. I find it very frustrating wanting this job so badly, and at the same time being nervous about being rejected. But I have secretly decided that failure is not an option, because I don’t think I have ever felt a job being so right for me as this one. So yes, keep your fingers crossed, håll tummarna, and send me positive thoughts and vibrations on Wednesday morning!

I guess I should try and get some sleep. If only my stomach pains would ease, and all these thoughts in my head would disappear or at least take a break from buzzing around in my mind, I might be able to have a couple of hours of sleep. No sleep for the wicked I suppose…

It’s weird, I have gone a good 6-7 months feeling like I don’t have much to talk or write about, but somehow it now feels like the inspiration is slowly coming back. As you know, I will be travelling to the other side of the globe this week, and hopefully there will be a lot to report back on. I need to remember to take as many pictures as possible!

Anyways, I might not be as wicked as I thought, and I feel like bed is the best option at this very moment in time. I hope you have downloaded the latest podcast, that you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that you’ll have a lovely Monday/beginning to the week! Much love! x
